I Found Sticky Boy!!

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!  I hope that you had a wonderful weekend!  On Friday, I had the pleasure of traveling with three fantastic ladies to a Close To My Heart Meeting!  What a great experience!  I love being a part of this wonderful company!  Not only did we have a good business portion, a great creative portion (thank you to Head Office for their part), but I was also the lucky finder of STICKY BOY!!  I was tickled pink!!!  Thank you Close To My Heart!!

Sticky Boy is accented with a retired CTMH stamp set, "Wicked"!

Could I have smiled any bigger??

Jeepers Creepers and the Everyday Photos!

Hello, There! With our harvest this year, I found it more difficult to do a 'few' things now that my kids are gone from home and at University!  I'm getting it all figured out, though! :-)
With the Halloween Season upon us, I figured that I should show you some pages that I made with CTMH's Jeepers Creepers Paper Pack (X7211B), the Jeepers Creepers Compliments (X7211C) and the Jeepers Creepers Assortment (Z4009)! I have yet to use it as actual Halloween paper!

These pictures are definitely a Throw-back Thursday moment!!  My son is now 20 and my daughter is 18!!  Looking a little different nowadays!!

Thanks for looking!

Here is another take on using Close To My Hearts Jeepers Creepers Paper Pack (X7211B), Jeepers Creepers Washi Tape (Z4010) and the Jeepers Creepers Assortment (Z4009). I am loving this paper for my everyday pictures!!  The colors are fabulous!

A Word-Full Layout! Way Cute!!

Happy Tuesday!

I realize that I have been on a single page layout 'road' lately, but I have so many pictures that I want to focus on and highlight! I saw a layout like this one on Pinterest and loved how the creator used a number of 'words' to highlight and enhance her page.  Love how this turned out!!

All stamped images are from Close To My Heart and come from a variety of stamp sets. To be honest, my craft space was an absolute mess by the time I was done as I was searching for the perfect words!!  So worth it!  I added variety to the words by using CTMH's Adventure stickers, but kept my color 'scheme' going by only using blues and greens.

Perfect, beautiful pictures are great, but don't forget about those silly, playful pictures!!
Have to 'take' one at every occasion!!

"My Boys!"

Happy Friday!!
What a wonderful day!  I'm sitting here, sipping my coffee in my new favorite coffee mug and excited to share one of my latest single page layouts with you!
This layout centers on a picture that Bob and Tyler took at Karly's grad.
"My Boys" is a simple layout, with the focus on the one picture that turned out.

I started by prepping my daisy white cardstock (1385) by taking a small paintbrush (Z3188) and a little bit of watercolour paints (Z3132) and "tapping" the paint onto the paper.  I just wanted a slight, dotted look for a little background color.

The accents on the page are from the Basics Fundamentals Sticker Pack (Z3166). I love the gold on this page! Especially the PML Watercolor-Gold card (Z3217) which I colored with our Watercolor Paints (Z3132) and the Waterbrush-Medium Flat brush (Z3226).  I love this brush as the water is in the chamber, you squeeze and it makes 'painting' so fun and easy for me!!

I finished the page by adding a little 'manly' bling, our Artisan Studs (Z1816).

All paper that is on the page came out of my scraps bucket...
I do recognize a piece of Adventure Fundamental Paper (Z3125), Fern cardstock (Z2650) and the fantastic Magical Paper Pack (X7209B).
Thanks for Looking and have a great weekend!!

Watercolor and Circles!

Happy Day!  How could life get better when you have a layout with watercolor, circles and great pictures from a fun-filled day?! Even though my picture is a little crooked, I am very pleased with the layout!  I'm loving my Z3132 CTMH Watercolor paints, my Z3217 PML- Watercolor Cards-Gold and the absolutely, fantastic Z3226 Waterbrush-Medium Flat. There is still a little bit of time to grab the C1644 Beyond Awesome Stamp Set, X7208B Florence Paper Pack and use up your CTMH Fundamentals!
*Just a note...when using your watercolor paints, be prepared to play!  I started off using just orange on my PML card, but didn't really love the look.  I was thinking that I had to throw it out.  When I added the red, I LOVED it!!  Mistakes are just untried Craftiness!!  lol  When it came to 'adding' to my page, I honestly tried flowers, but I'm not a flower person and my circles just seem to finish the page adding dimension and color! The 'flags', are of course, my journal boxes!

Loving Color!

Hello!
When searching for a couple of pictures for my daughter's Graduation, I found some great pictures that I felt 'needed' to be scrapbooked! I'm sure that they are already in a scrapbook, but why not give them another 'go'!  I love the color that the Adventure Fundamentals Sticker Pack (Z3163) and the (unkown, but CTMH) PML cards offer to this page!!  I am also loving layering at an angle under the pictures! Don't forget to add some Everyday Life Washi Tape (Z3211) and
Aqua Shimmer Trim (Z3086) for an accent or two!

A Blast From the Past!

 Good Morning, Everyone!
Today's single page layout is definitely a 'Blast from the Past'!
With the release of Close To My Hearts new Annual Inspirations in August, I'm trying hard to use up paper and accessories that have been retired or are retiring!  Sometimes its good to use up the items that we already have and make room for the great 'things' that are to come!!  All items used on today's layout are CTMH and hopefully will inspire you to get crafty today!!  Our area has been getting a downpour of rain the last few days, so it will be a crafty/coffee kind of day for me!!

Try New Things...with more Watercolor!

Happy Tuesday!  I hope that you had a great weekend! Life is getting very exciting in our house with our daughter's grade 12 Grad now one sleep away!  The last final will be wrote this afternoon and new dreams and adventures will begin for her.  Life should be full of "New Things"! For me this year, doing the Color Run with friends was one of my many new things...what better way to scrapbook this moment than with a little watercolor to add great color to the layout!
All supplies used are Close To My Heart...
This page uses scraps of CTMH's Fundamentals Adventure Paper Pack
D1689 Firework Fun Stamp Set,
Z3132 Watercolor Paints,
Z3188 Watercolor Paint Brushes,
E1029 Marquee Uppercase Alphabet Stamp Set,
*for the title I used the Rock and Roll technique... first place the letters on the block to spell the word that you would like, ink in the lighter color of your choice and then gently 'roll' the same word in a darker color to achieve the 'rock and roll' look. Always make sure that you go from light to dark as you do not want to mix a dark color in a lighter one. ;-)
(retired) PML card,
Eggplant, Gypsy, Cranberry and Black ink pads,
and, of course, the fabulous Mini Stapler!

Using A Little Watercolor!

Happy Thursday!  I have been 'madly' working in my creating space, but have been forgetting to post! I have so many pictures to create with lately as this is my daughter's grad year and, luckily, she loves to take pictures!!  Today, I am 'blogging' some of my creations that use Close To My Heart's Watercolor Paints (Z3132), Paintbrush Set (Z3188), Watercolor Paper (Z3146), Beyond Awesome Stamp Set (C1644), and a lot of water spritzing!  To achieve this wonderful look, you do spritz your watercolor paper with quite a bit of water, apply watercolor paint with a watercolor paint brush (I used the largest one) by just 'holding' the brush with paint to the paper.  The watercolor paint will 'bleed' and 'move'. If you would like the paint to 'move' a little more, spritz with more water.  You will definitely want to 'play' around with this technique! You can also use your  Craft Heater (Z555) to manipulate the water and paint! Love it!!  Works great for scrapbooking pages as well.  A great way to add color to 'colorful' and fun events!
All supplies on this and the following projects are from my favorite company, Close To My Heart!

*The Waterbrushes are great with the ability to fill the chamber with water!!!
I love Embossing Folders of all type!  Great way to add texture and dimension to a page!

More Watercolor Fun!

This page uses the stamp sets Firework Fun D1689 and Beyond Awesome C1644,
as well as the NEW Picture My Life Journaling Cards!

A 'Happy Times' Tuesday!

Hello and a Happy Tuesday to you!  It is a dreary day here in this part of the world, as the skies are trying to decide if it should rain or not. A great day to hang out inside the house and work on a two page layout that I could share with all of you!  Yes, I have circles once again!  lol. I am in love with Close To My Heart's Happy Times Paper Pack and Stamp Set!! For the solid colored circles, I dug through my scrap bucket and punched random paper. The ink colors I used were Peacock, Sorbet, Fern, Pixie and Glacier. The Florence sequins come from the new Seasonal Expressions 2.

Do You Remember Chalk It Up?!

Happy Wednesday! Do you remember the CTMH paper Chalk It Up!?  I have had that paper from when I first signed up as a consultant and finally came up with a layout worth sharing! I just love the brightness and excitement that the paper offers this layout and pictures.  The addition of a strip of Coral Shimmer Trim and a few circles cut out of a piece of paper from Fundamentals Adventure and from Sorbet Cardstock finish off the layout nicely!
Don't forget that when looking at a layout, you only need to swap out the paper with your 'stash' at home. Check out the new CTMH papers that are in the new Seasonal Expressions 2! Magical and Florence are a must have!!

"A Weekend Full of So Many Smiles!"

Happy Monday!  What a wonderful weekend I had!  On Saturday a group of 15 ladies, including my mother, daughter, and myself, met at our local hall and scrapbooked or made cards for 12 hours!! Yay!!  What fun!!  What a day of inspiration!!  Thank you to each and every one of those ladies for coming out!!  At the crop, I had a demonstration named "Crazy for Circles!"  LOVE my circles!! lol  Due to my love of circles, I am absolutely in love with CTMH's stamp set, "So Many Smiles"!  I love how you can take this 12 piece stamp set, mix and match colors, use 3D foam tape and 'pop' up certain sections of the circles and make an eye pleasing layout!  Adding it with the Zoe paper pack, Coral Shimmer Trim, a mini stapler and a couple of (retired) Picture My Life Cards just made it that much better!  Wonderful 'things' can happen with this fantastic stamp set!!

"Sweet Memory" Layout!

Happy Wednesday!  It is layout day!  I am pleased with this single page layout- simple with just enough bling to enhance the photos and the memories. I wanted this layout to remain as masculine as possible.  I also added a little bit of heat embossing-the ribbon and the star.  I had forgotten how much I love heat embossing until I shared the technique with one of my clubs the other night.  I love how you can transform a stamped image into an elegant 'sticker' to enhance a page.  It's not a hard technique either...
1. Rub embossing buddy on your paper to help the embossing powder from sticking to paper where you would rather not have the powder stick to.
2. Stamp image with either Versamark or Pigment Ink...depending on what embossing powder you are going to be using.
3. When using Versamark ink, sprinkle on gold, silver, or whatever color powder you have.  **Love this...when using color pigment ink, you only have to have clear embossing powder on hand as the color comes from the ink.  This is where I achieved the purple look from. Embossed a 'purple' pigment ink with clear embossing powder!**
4. Of course, finish by using your heat tool to melt the powder.
*My hint to you...do these steps as quickly as you can. :-)
*All supplies used on this layout are Close To My Heart!
Stamp Sets Used:
...C1644 Beyond Awesome (from upcoming Seasonal Expressions 2)
...Happy Times (from upcoming promotion for National Scrapbooking Month 2016)
...C1464 Blue Ribbon (retiring August 2016)

A Monday Greeting Card!

Happy Monday, Everyone!  It is a wonderful 10 degrees here and farmers, including mine, are hopeful that seeding will begin soon!  :-).  Meanwhile, I believe that I have a wonderful and simple Mother's Day Card to share with all of you that has a 'hint' of simple watercoloring on it! I am also giving you a bit of a sneak peak at a few of the new items that Close To My Heart has coming out in the new Seasonal Expressions 2 catalogue...only 6 more sleeps until!!!

What I am super excited about that is going to be re-introduced is our Waterbrushes!!  I am loving these a lot!!  It is so simple to fill the chambers, squeeze and 'brush' into the watercolor of my choice! Then 'paint' until my heart is content!!  lol. To stamp over top of the watercolor, I of course, used Momento Tuxedo Black Ink.

CTMH Supplies Used:
...whisper white, black and cotton candy cardstock

...Z3211 Everyday Life Washi Tape

A Wonderful Thursday and Fun!

Happy Thursday to everyone!  This week has been a little crazy...I am super excited to be sharing this single page layout with you today.  As you may have realized by now, I have an addiction to coffee and love to hang out with friends and family at two different coffee shops...of course, any Starbucks and locally, The Sweet Cup in Tisdale, Saskatchewan.  My opinion, you cannot get a better cup of sweet and yummy java anywhere else!  lol. Remember, my opinion. This day, I had the pleasure of sharing the outing with some wonderful family members and a great time we had!
If you look back to "Creating at a Gathering", please note the "Happy Birthday" card with the circles on it.  I created this page to reinforce to attendees at my card class, that you can take what you learn with card making and make it into scrapbook pages.  Of course, it can be done the other way as well.

CTMH Supplies Used:
...Sangria Workshop Stamp Set
...retired SOTM "This Moment"
...X7201B La Vie En Rose Paper Packet
...Whisper white, Ruby and Black Cardstock
...Z3090 Red Enamel Gems
...adhesive and 3D Foam tape

This is a super easy layout, but I just love the look of it!!

A Wonderful Wednesday Layout!

Happy Wednesday, Everybody!  It is so exciting to be 'blogging' after a wonderful evening last night!  I was invited to 'present' Close To My Heart to a wonderful group of individuals at the Arborfield Library.  It is always so much fun to introduce people to what I love to do and the company that I absolutely love working with! When I introduce CTMH to people in a 'Gathering' setting all creations are cut and ready for them to experience stamping and getting to play with a few 'items' that are in the paper crafters world. The cards that I shared with them are following this layout. Now, I get to share what I believe to be, a wonderful single page layout that uses CTMH's April Stamp of the Month.  Every month, CTMH offers to customers the opportunity to purchase a limited stamp set for a discounted price...when you purchase $50 of CTMH product before taxes and shipping, the SOTM is only $6! ...D1647 Documenting Moments Stamp Set
...Z1380 Spray Pen

*use this marker to color the Clear Sparkles # Z1752.

A Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge!

As a crafter, a paper designer, a scrapbooker, whatever I feel like calling myself on a given day, you can sometimes get crafters block.  I had been struggling with that over the holiday season.  What do you do?  Explore the internet, pinterest, other companies, do research.  Close to my Heart is near and dear to my heart.  Love it!!  But today I have combined CTMH with a few Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  I had noticed on her blog and her Facebook page that Kimmie and a wonderful group of talented ladies do a number of challenges.  They are so talented!!  One of the challenges this month is "Anything Goes".  Of course, and understandably, you have to use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp.  Since I have a coffee addiction and she had a couple of wonderful coffee related stamps....
CTMH Supplies Used:
...#3505 Watercolor Pencils (I've had them since I became a consultant, but this is the first time I really used them and they are wonderful!!)
...cranberry, colonial white, kraft and cocoa paper
...cranberry, cocoa, chocolate and cashmere ink
...#A1170 Doodled Designs stamp set
...#D1660 Ink Blot stamp set
...#E1030 Handwritten Print Alphabet Stamp Set
...#D1647 Documenting Moments (the little heart blot)
...adhesive, 3D tape
...Red Hearts Enamels
...retired red bling

All coffee related stamps (the sayings and the cup) are from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!
I'm not sure if I have done the challenge correctly, but here goes the hope that I can play!!

Urban and my Hubby!

A Wonderful Wednesday to you!!  I hope that you had a great day and and are now having a wonderful evening!  I am excited to be sharing with you a layout of one of my favorite photos of all time!  A picture of Bob in Old Montreal.  Love it!!  You will come to see over time that I can be quite a frugal scrapbooker, except when it comes to the best and my most favorite photos!! *Smile*  In all honesty, though, it is not hard to be a frugal scrapooker when CTMH continues to bless us with such wonderful B&T paper, complements and assortments so we actually 'use' all of our products and not just 'collect' different items!  Almost all of the items used on this layout are from the Urban Collection in CTMH's Annual Inspirations Catalogue.  I have used it before for some of my farming photos and love that it is versatile enough to use withon of our trip photos! I love it when products can be used for multiple themes!!

CTMH Supplies Used:
...Urban WOTG (which includes the stamps used, b&t paper and assortment badges)
...Urban Complements
...Sanding block
...Pacifica (for mounting of journaling rectangles), white daisy and basic black cardstock
...Pacifica ink
...Journaling Pen
...'bling' that is no longer available and causing me to pout!

I hope you enjoyed my layout and can find some inspiration to create!

Day 2 of La Vie En Rose!

Happy Tuesday!  It is a wonderful day here in Saskatchewan as it reached -12 without the wind chill! Yay!  Much nicer than the -38 the other day! I believe that I have two wonderful projects to share with you today...the first, a card for an upcoming Gathering that I have next week. Simple and clean.
My focus was to introduce stamping and using the wonderful paper that CTMH offers.
CTMH supplies used:
...Friend in Me Stamp Set (from the new Seasonal Expressions!!!)
...La Vie En Rose B&T paper pack
...Black Momento Ink Pad
...Watercolor paper
...Tender pink, Cherry pink, Golden yellow ShinHan Touch Twin Markers
...3-D foam tape, adhesive
...Gold foil tape
...card and envelope

*Now would it not be wonderful to take what we learn at a card class and turn it into a scrapbook page that helps us to "preserve and share the moments that matter most"?  I really wanted to test myself as I always say at card classes and gatherings that we can use what we learn to help us with our scrapbooking.....

La Vie En Rose Scrapbook Page!

With just a few extra touches, I have used my previous card to help me create, what I believe is a beautiful single page layout.   You can definitely see the similarities between the two...
All the supplies are the same, with a few extras...
...Pink Shimmer Trim
...Pixie Extra Thick Twine
...Versamark Ink Pad
...Gold Embossing Powder
...Craft Heater
...Mini Stapler
...bling from my 'stash' (available on my OBA in the clearance section)
...Don't forget to journal and tell your story with our Journaling Pen!!

For those of you that are getting to know me, yes, I am once again at one of my favorite hang outs "The Sweet Cup" in Tisdale!  Awesome!! Best place to go for a cup of coffee and a cupcake for someone's birthday!  Or just when you want.... ;-)

Thank you so much for looking today!  Loved sharing these two accomplishments with you!
Gwen
"Enjoy the little things!"

ps...to get the gold "streaking" look, take your versamark pad, turned over, and lightly streak across your page.  You can choose to do a long "streak", short one, spotty one...I did have to practice as the first time I pressed too hard and it was a gold embossed blob.  :-)  Emboss as normal.
