Try New Things...with more Watercolor!

Happy Tuesday!  I hope that you had a great weekend! Life is getting very exciting in our house with our daughter's grade 12 Grad now one sleep away!  The last final will be wrote this afternoon and new dreams and adventures will begin for her.  Life should be full of "New Things"! For me this year, doing the Color Run with friends was one of my many new things...what better way to scrapbook this moment than with a little watercolor to add great color to the layout!
All supplies used are Close To My Heart...
This page uses scraps of CTMH's Fundamentals Adventure Paper Pack
D1689 Firework Fun Stamp Set,
Z3132 Watercolor Paints,
Z3188 Watercolor Paint Brushes,
E1029 Marquee Uppercase Alphabet Stamp Set,
*for the title I used the Rock and Roll technique... first place the letters on the block to spell the word that you would like, ink in the lighter color of your choice and then gently 'roll' the same word in a darker color to achieve the 'rock and roll' look. Always make sure that you go from light to dark as you do not want to mix a dark color in a lighter one. ;-)
(retired) PML card,
Eggplant, Gypsy, Cranberry and Black ink pads,
and, of course, the fabulous Mini Stapler!

Thanks for looking!

Using A Little Watercolor!

Happy Thursday!  I have been 'madly' working in my creating space, but have been forgetting to post! I have so many pictures to create with lately as this is my daughter's grad year and, luckily, she loves to take pictures!!  Today, I am 'blogging' some of my creations that use Close To My Heart's Watercolor Paints (Z3132), Paintbrush Set (Z3188), Watercolor Paper (Z3146), Beyond Awesome Stamp Set (C1644), and a lot of water spritzing!  To achieve this wonderful look, you do spritz your watercolor paper with quite a bit of water, apply watercolor paint with a watercolor paint brush (I used the largest one) by just 'holding' the brush with paint to the paper.  The watercolor paint will 'bleed' and 'move'. If you would like the paint to 'move' a little more, spritz with more water.  You will definitely want to 'play' around with this technique! You can also use your  Craft Heater (Z555) to manipulate the water and paint! Love it!!  Works great for scrapbooking pages as well.  A great way to add color to 'colorful' and fun events!
All supplies on this and the following projects are from my favorite company, Close To My Heart!
